We are seeking an Engineering Director with 10+ years of experience in Civil Engineering and Land Development to lead and grow our project design and delivery team. This full-time leadership role is based in our Fort Worth office (in-person; remote candidates need not apply).

As Engineering Director, you will:

• Report directly to the President of Evolving Texas.
• Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for land development projects (for example, residential subdivisions, commercial developments, industrial warehouse sites, K-12 schools, and institutional projects).
• Oversee and mentor engineering staff, fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and collaboration.
• Drive business development opportunities by leveraging your entrepreneurial mindset and industry connections.
• Ensure technical excellence in project delivery, including water/wastewater distribution design, stormwater management, grading, dimensional control, and full civil plan sets.
• Manage client relationships, oversee project budgets, and ensure on-time, high-quality deliverables.
• Champion operational improvements that increase efficiency and scalability as Evolving Texas continues to grow.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

• 10+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering and land development.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams, projects, and client relationships.
• Entrepreneurial spirit—comfortable with growth, innovation, and business development.
• Demonstrated expertise in:
  • Civil site design (water, sewer, storm drain systems, grading, etc.)
  • Preparing and overseeing complete civil engineering plan sets
  • Stormwater planning and design solutions
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to deliver results across multiple concurrent projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license for the State of Texas (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

• 10+ years of experience with demonstrated success in both technical and leadership roles.
• Track record of building and scaling a team or division within a civil engineering firm.
• Strong community and industry network in North Texas/DFW area
