Project Engineer
Location: Evolving Texas – In office
Employment Type: Full-Time
The Project Engineer will perform civil design, scheduling, budgeting and permitting of construction plans, while collaborating with consultants and the design team to ensure the best design approach throughout every phase of the development. The Project Engineer will hold a BSCE in Civil Engineering, or comparable engineering field.
Responsibilities will include:
- Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3d to design Engineering Construction Drawings for Commercial, Residential Subdivision, Industrial, Retail, Multi-family and Capital Improvement Projects.
- Perform the civil design and coordinate work with other staff and design team members;
- Prepare construction drawings and specification packages.
- Perform paving, grading, drainage and utility design to local standards;
- Assist with coordination with local authorities, regulatory agencies, contractors, staff, etc. during project design and construction;
- Prepare preliminary, engineering and detailed cost estimates;
- Perform Drainage Studies;
- Perform Hec-Ras modeling as directed;
- Any other duties as assigned which are relevant to the position.
Essential Job Functions:
- The Project Engineer must have an in-depth knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and be able to produce construction drawings using same;
- The Project Engineer must have the Ability to read and understand consultant drawings and reports, and incorporate them, as needed, into the Civil Construction Drawings;
- The Project Engineer must have an in-depth knowledge of civil engineering infrastructure projects, including paving, water, sewer, grading and drainage;
- The Project Engineer must complete QC/QA and design Checklists on all assigned projects before submissions are made to supervisor clients or reviewing agencies;
- The Project Engineer must have the ability to manage competing priorities and assignments;
- The Project Engineer must have a Professional demeanor and project a positive and professional image;
- The Project Engineer must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected;
- The Project Engineer must be self-motivated but also be a team player;
- The Project Engineer must have strong communications skills both written and oral;
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Land Development Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Civil 3D
